 Jewelry

Egyptians wore all kinds of jewelry. Gold and silver were really popular for the rich people, but not for the poor because they couldn't afford stuff like that. Since poor Egyptians could not afford better jewelry like the rich people, they still tried to make themselves look good by wearing cheap jewelry made from copper or shells. The Egyptian clothing was mostly made out of white linen so to make it stand out more they added a little sparkle to it. By sparkle I mean they'd add some nice sparkly gems to their clothing. They mad their white clothing more attractive by wearing jewelry made from gold and other colourful precious stones. Sometimes, for a special feast, Egyptians wore a collar mad from cloth. This collar would be decorated with nice leaves, pretty wildflowers, and glasslike beads. Not only did woman wear jewelry back then, so did men. Men wore deckedout collars, usually. Bracelets, necklaces, and broaches were very popular for rich woman; they wore these pieces of jewelry almost all the time. Although the poor couldn't afford the same kind of jewelry as the rich people, they still tried to look good by wearing cheap pieces of jewelry. Gods and Goddesses wore fancy collars, crowns, necklaces, earrings, and  fancy kinds of bracelets made from beautiful gems and gold. Most women already wore these bracelets, though a piece of jewelry like this bracelet is made especially for the Gods and Goddesses.

The Egyptians were known for having the most trendy time period. Why, you ask? Well, because Egyptians liked to dress up a lot! For example, they loved to wear makeup, they loved to wear jewelry, and they loved being in the latest fashion trends. Even when a Pharaoh died, during the mummification process, the embalmers put jewelry in the tomb because they thought that in the afterlife the Pharaoh should also have a keen fashion sense. Not only were the Egyptians good at wearing jewelry, but they were also good at making it; they became professionals. Queen Hetepheres had the most beautiful jeweled collar necklace. It was put to her grave by silver and ivory bracelets decorated butterflies made from carnelian, turquoise with lapis lazuli. Simpler people had to rest in graves happily with clay of faience beads, in white, red, and aquamarine. Queens always had the best jewelry, and so did Gods and Goddesses, they'd be wearing their jewelry all the time. Though, when the tombs of the Gods and Goddesses were buried they would have many precious, valuable stuff in them, and sometimes robbers would rob all the prized belongings, like their jewels. The Egyptians got totally jacked, but that didn't stop people from getting information on Egyptian fashion!
