Legacy

Women in Ancient Egypt have many similarities and differences from way back. To begin with, women had an amazing amount of freedom, more than other women in the other civilizations. If it wasn’t for the Ancient Egyptian women nothing would have any freedom to the simplest things. For example, going to the market without any difficulties and owning property. Women in North America are very lucky to have freedom, but most women, like in Asia, don’t. Also, if women didn't have the right to own property, maybe we wouldn't either. For example, if a couple was getting divorced and women weren't allowed to own property, then the man would get everything and the women would end up with nothing. Finally, women in Ancient Egypt had access to leadership roles in the government. That mean't that they were allowed to become pharaohs(egyptian kings). Today, some of the important and successful people are women. These are just a few of the reasons why we thing women are the most important legacy in Ancient Egypt.
