Family Life
The women in Ancient Egypt were treated better than any other major civilizations of the Ancient World. In Ancient Egypt, family life was important. Men had many wives. Chief wife, the husband's partner, ran the house and owned household goods, like furniture and the other daily household objects. They did not have to do much house work because they had a lot of servants. In the family, the sons did not need to support their parents unless they decided to, but the girls had no choice to take care of them. The servants also helped with the clothes, make up, and hair. Egyptian women were fortunate in many ways. Some examples are that they could become pharoh, but only in very special circumstances. They could own property, borrow money, sign contracts, ask for divorce, and appear in court as a witness. Women could attend markets and trade, while men sat at home. A couple of jobs that women had are dancers, musicians, acrobats, maids, kitchen staff, field workers, and more. If the Egyptian women hadn't been able to have this much freedom as the other women in the other ancient civilizations than the women today wouldn't be able to live their lives as they do now.
